DAC Rent a Car provides vehicle rental services in accordance with applicable laws and regulations of the United Arab Emirates, company policies and the rental terms presented to the customer during the reservation process.
The following terms describe the general principles applicable to vehicle rentals made through DAC Rent a Car. By completing a reservation and accepting delivery of the vehicle, the customer acknowledges and agrees to the applicable terms stated in the rental agreement and reservation confirmation.
At the time of vehicle collection, the customer must provide valid and verifiable identification and driving documents.
For international customers, the validity of a foreign driving licence in the United Arab Emirates and any additional documentation requirements may vary depending on the customer's nationality and residency status.
The driver must meet the applicable age and driving licence requirements for the selected vehicle category. Minimum age requirements and the required period of driving licence validity may vary depending on the vehicle category and applicable company policy.
Additional age, licence and security requirements may apply to premium and luxury vehicle categories.
The vehicle category, rental period, collection and return locations, rental price and applicable conditions communicated to the customer at the time of reservation shall form the basis of the rental arrangement.
Reservation confirmation may require the customer to provide all requested information and documentation and complete any required payment or security procedures.
At vehicle collection, the customer and DAC Rent a Car may inspect the vehicle and record its existing condition, mileage, fuel level and any relevant damage or other information.
The vehicle must be returned on the date, at the time and at the location specified in the reservation or rental agreement.
Any request to extend the rental period is subject to approval by DAC Rent a Car. Extending the rental period without prior approval may result in additional charges or other contractual consequences.
In the event of a late return, additional charges may apply in accordance with the rental agreement and the conditions communicated to the customer.
The rental fee and any applicable additional charges shall be collected in accordance with the payment terms communicated to the customer during the reservation process or before vehicle collection.
Depending on the vehicle category, rental period and customer circumstances, a security deposit may be required. The applicable deposit amount and release conditions will be communicated to the customer before the rental.
Outstanding rental charges, traffic fines, toll charges, fuel shortages, damage or other financial obligations arising under the rental agreement may be charged to the customer where applicable.
The vehicle will normally be provided with an agreed fuel level, and the customer is expected to return the vehicle at the applicable agreed level.
If the vehicle is returned with insufficient fuel, the applicable fuel cost and any related service or handling charges specified in the rental agreement may be charged.
The rental vehicle may only be driven by the customer and any additional drivers who have been properly authorised and included in the rental agreement.
The use of rental vehicles for racing, speed testing, off-road driving, commercial passenger or goods transportation, driving instruction or unlawful activities is prohibited unless expressly authorised in writing.
The customer may be held responsible for losses, damages and expenses resulting from the use of the vehicle by unauthorised drivers.
Traffic fines, parking penalties, road tolls, parking charges and other usage-related costs incurred during the rental period are the responsibility of the customer.
Where DAC Rent a Car is required to pay any such amount in connection with the customer or the rental vehicle, the applicable amount and any permitted administrative charges may be charged to the customer.
Any accident, damage, breakdown or unusual incident involving the rental vehicle must be reported to DAC Rent a Car as soon as reasonably possible.
In the event of an accident or damage, the customer may be required to comply with applicable UAE reporting requirements and obtain any necessary official documentation before leaving the incident location.
Damage resulting from misuse, negligence, unauthorised use or intentional conduct contrary to the rental agreement may remain the responsibility of the customer.
Rental vehicles may be subject to applicable insurance and protection arrangements in accordance with UAE law and the company's rental conditions.
The scope of insurance coverage, deductibles, exclusions and circumstances for which the customer may remain responsible are specified in the applicable rental agreement.
Whether a particular accident, loss or damage is covered by insurance will be determined in accordance with the relevant insurance policy and rental agreement.
Smoking and the use of tobacco products inside rental vehicles is prohibited. Where smoking results in persistent odours, stains or a condition requiring additional cleaning or restoration, the applicable cleaning or restoration costs may be charged to the customer.
Due to operational requirements, maintenance, technical issues or vehicle availability, DAC Rent a Car may provide a replacement vehicle from the same category or an appropriate alternative.
The specifications and availability of any replacement vehicle may vary depending on operational circumstances and the applicable rental conditions.
Reservation cancellations and changes to rental dates, times or locations are subject to the applicable DAC Rent a Car cancellation and modification policy.
Any applicable cancellation, modification or administrative charges and refund conditions will be determined in accordance with the terms communicated to the customer at the time of reservation.
Services not included in the agreed rental price, as well as additional costs arising from the customer's use of the vehicle, may be charged separately.
The final terms applicable to each vehicle rental are determined by the rental agreement entered into between the customer and DAC Rent a Car, the reservation confirmation and the relevant company policies.
